The 9 Pro is the compact Pro Pixel at 6.3 inches, flat, with a centred punch-hole. Ours is thickness-matched to the optical fingerprint reader, which is more sensitive to what sits above it than an ultrasonic one.
Shares the Pro design language with the 9 Pro XL but not its panel size.

Four steps, ten minutes

Wipe with the alcohol pad, then the microfibre. Lift any remaining dust with a sticker — a single speck is what causes a permanent bubble.

Seat the alignment frame over the Pixel 9 Pro. It registers against the frame edges, so there is only one way it sits.
- 03
Peel the backing, lower the glass onto the centre of the panel and let go. The adhesive pulls itself outward from the middle.

Press any remaining edge gently toward the border. Small perimeter bubbles clear on their own within 24 hours.

Questions about the Pixel 9 Pro
Will this slow down the fingerprint reader?
No. The Pixel reads optically — it photographs your fingerprint through the display — so what sits above the sensor matters more than on an ultrasonic phone. At 0.33mm with an optically clear full-surface adhesive there is no measurable delay. Re-register your print after fitting.
Does the Pixel 9 protector fit the Pixel 9 Pro?
No. Both are 6.3 inches, but the frames and the bezel widths differ, so the cuts are not the same. Check which one you have in Settings → About phone.
Is privacy glass a problem for photography?
It will affect how you judge a shot. Privacy glass narrows the viewing angle and takes roughly 15–20% off perceived brightness head-on, which matters if you edit photos on the phone. If that is you, choose regular.
